In 2017, I founded Sydney Lingos, a language exchange community that grew from 65 to over 13,000 members — becoming one of Australia’s largest of its kind. I created a space where people from around the world could build friendships, practise languages, and support one another.

My own journey into language — studying French for over fifteen years (including an international exchange at Sciences Po and a role at the Alliance Française), alongside years of academic exposure to Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin Chinese — was a significant catalyst for this.

In parallel with my work in community building, I have spent over a decade as a multi-disciplinary creative. My Legacy Portfolio reflects this range: work that taught me how powerfully form shapes meaning, and why how we present ideas matters just as much as the ideas themselves.

Together, these experiences shaped the way I understand people and the world around us. What began as community building and creative expression became a deeper investigation into why some environments unlock human potential, and why others do not.

Over the past 18 years, I’ve worked across retail, hospitality, marketing, education, and events — experiences that have given me a deeply human perspective on how culture really works.

Through my experiences as an employee, business owner, customer, and candidate, I began noticing patterns: what builds trust, what breaks trust, and why so many workplaces still get it wrong.

Over the past four years, this led me to focus on understanding people and systems, driven by a passion for discovering how organisations can get it right. During that time, I’ve had hundreds of meaningful conversations with people across industries, cultures, ages, identities, abilities and lived experiences. I’ve spent countless hours listening, learning, and connecting the dots between individual stories and the bigger picture.

My curiosity has led me to explore the intersections of business, education, mental health, justice, and workplace culture — all connected by one important question:

How do we create a world where all people feel safe, empowered, and psychologically supported?
